Poster Session
Call for posters - share your work in Kathmandu!
At a time when established systems and ways of working can often seem tired and unfit to meet the challenges of our times, what “new edges” — emergent or experimental practices, ways of working and thinking — are you using in your work that can inspire others and help shape the world we want?
The Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF) is inviting submissions for a poster exhibit which will form part of the Possible Now Summit in Kathmandu. Send us your idea by 2 October 2026.
Why Use a Poster?
Posters can offer a powerful way to bring your work to life and to introduce ideas and practices to a range of audiences in ways that are concise and visually compelling. Clear and structured, posters can also be playful, colourful and full of personality. There are plenty of online resources (such as this) offering advice on how to create an engaging conference poster. Posters from the 2023 #ShiftThePower Global Summit can be found here (and all images on this page were taken at the 2023 poster exhibit).
How to Apply?
Space for posters at the Summit will be limited, so we ask that you first submit a brief description of your idea for a poster. If it feels like the right fit for Possible Now (and forms part of a diverse collection of posters from around the world, touching on a range of different topics), we will come back to you to offer you an exhibition space at the Summit and to discuss next steps.
We are particularly looking for examples of edgy, bold and experimental approaches and ways of working that seek to break new ground, to build new constituencies and connections, or to challenge conventional blockages and assumptions (whether about power, voice, knowledge or resources). In short, we are looking for posters which show what is already possible – and happening – but which might not be fully visible or legible in the current system.
Send your idea – one-page or an email – to Eshban Kwesiga (eshban@globalfundcf.org) by 2 October 2026. Please include the following information:
A. Your name and position in your organization.
B. A brief description of your poster idea, including responses to these questions (maximum 500 words):
What is the experiment or question?
What systemic challenge or question or blockage does it seek to address?
What is the practice or the experiment?
In what ways is it edgy, new or different from what has gone before (especially in the context of the dominant system of philanthropy and aid)?
Why did it work?
C. Let us know if you need any support – with content, layout or design – for your poster?
D. Finally, please let us know if you’ve already registered for the Summit.
You will be responsible for designing the poster and for sending the final version in PDF format to the GFCF by 6 November 2026. Your poster will then be printed for you in Kathmandu, and a space will be provided at the Summit venue where all the posters will be displayed. You will have an opportunity to discuss your poster with others during a dedicated Poster Session!
Please trust in the power of your own idea and articulate your submission in your own words. AI-generated submissions are often easy to recognize. They sound the same and can often easily “flatten” language and ideas. (If your submission is selected, the GFCF would be happy to discuss options for animations, images, etc. AI might be one option, though other human-centred approaches may also be available and preferable).
Dates to Keep in Mind
2 October 2026: Deadline for sending the idea for your poster to Eshban at the GFCF (as above). The GFCF will respond to all submissions within seven days.
6 November 2026: Deadline for sending the final version of your poster in PDF format to the GFCF. This is to ensure that there is ample time to print the posters in Kathmandu in advance of the Summit.
2 - 4 December: Possible Now Summit in Kathmandu Nepal to show and discuss your poster.
Where Can You Get Help and Support?
Posters may be new to many and so we are keen to offer advice and support to help your idea capture the minds of the Summit audience. If your poster is selected, the GFCF team will be on stand-by to support you in the design process. Advice on templates and other creative ideas for posters can also be found online.
